Miguel of "Pinoy Dream Academy" performs at Duty Free

The Top 6 Scholars' special assignments for "Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2" includes Dream BIGayan, a chance for the scholars to donate to their favorite charity.

These assignments are still being carried out days before the Grand Dream Nights and for Miguel's part, he had the opportunity to perform at Duty Free with the Shadow Rondalia.

Miguel got the chance to leave the Academy one afternoon to fulfill his assignment for Dream BIGayan. He was transported to Duty Free where the Shadow Rondalia, a group of talented blind men who play the guitar, mandolin, and other stringed instruments, awaited him. The ensemble was there to accompany Miguel in his mini-concert for a cause.

After rehearsing with the Shadow Rondalia, Miguel went on to the stage for his first one-man show geared toward raising funds for his chosen charity, the Mindanao Emergency Response Network Thru Mindanao Tulong Bakwet.

An appreciative crowd who gave cash donations to be able to take part in the noble cause, welcomed Miguel's gig at Duty Free. By the end of the show, the total money raised was an impressive P24,690, a part of which was given to the Shadow Rondalia.

Who will be the next Scholar to have a gig for his or her chosen charity?

Charice to sing with Celine Dion in Madison Square Garden

"Hi Charice. Hi sweetheart. I have to tell you that I am speechless, to start with--and it's not a good way to start--I have, hmm, I have heard you sing. I have seen some, a little bit of your life story. And I am extremely ecstatic like the rest of the world who is watching right now. I can tell you that we have lots of things in common. And I also had a mother, still have a mother, who is my strength. My passion I carry in my heart. And so my beauty. And David Foster, you cannot even think of finding somebody even better than that to bring the best out of you. You have more talent than most people."

These were the words of a mother with a seven-year-old son who spoke to 15-year-old Filipina singer Charice Pempengco during an episode of Oprah. Charice, who has been the toast of music lovers all over the world, has probably heard similar praise before.

The difference is, the mother speaking via video conference from Washington, D.C. happens to be Celine Dion.

Dream come true

Charice has met with a measure of international success but that moment with Dion is so far the peak experience for the former. Charice has always been open about her admiration for Dion, revealing that the very first song she learned to perform was the Canadian superstar's "My Heart Will Go On" which was the love theme of the Hollywood global blockbuster "Titanic".

It wasn't exactly God speaking to Charice, but that was probably the closest the Filipina singer could get to a similar experience. This was Celine Dion inviting her to sing a duet in Madison Square Garden!

No other Filipino singer has ever been bestowed with such an honor by a singer of such immense, global stature as Dion.

Dion in her message also told Oprah, "You have somebody amazing", referring to the Filipina.

Dion, who earlier told Charice that she could find no better person than David Foster to bring out her talent, then told Foster:

"David, take good care of that girl."

Dion is currently on a worldwide tour and will perform in every major city in North America. Dion's Madison Square Garden performance is part of that tour--and now Charice has received a personal invitation from the superstar to sing there as well.

KC & Richard's 'For The First Time' premiere a success

A huge and excited crowd showed up at the star-studded premiere night of KC Concepcion and Richard Gutierrez' first film together "For the First Time," Tuesday, August 26 at SM Megamall's Cinema 9 and 10 in Ortigas.

The film is KC's first movie while it is the first film of Richard with ABS-CBN's movie outfit Star Cinema. The film is again one of the offerings of Star Cinema for their 15th anniversary.

The movie is directed by well-acclaimed director Ms. Joyce Bernal.

"Maraming salamat po sa pagdating niyo, sa pagpunta dito sana po ay mag-enjoy kayong lahat. Thank you all, this has been a dream come true for me... 23 years ang hinintay ko salamat sa inyong nandito ngayon sa kapamilya, kaibigan at mga taga-suporta at kay Richard, salamat sa experience na maibabahagi namin," KC told viewers inside the theater before the film showing started.

"Maraming salamat dahil nandito kayo sa special moment ng buhay namin, first movie ni KC at first movie ko with Star Cinema. Thanks for the support," added Richard.

"For The First Time" is a story of Seth (Richard) and Pia (KC). Two people from different worlds. Seth is a rich, impulsive rake who doesn't like serious relationships while Pia is a prim and ambitious girl who feels responsible for the tragedy that has befallen her life.

The movie shows how love changes people. Seth would be transformed into a committed gentleman and Pia who refuses to fall in love would take a chance to fall in love again.

The two meets by accident in Santorini island in Greece where they would spend an unforgettable summer together. Seth leaves Pia and in Manila, they meet again.

KC who is known for being a grandma's girl also went emotional and appeared teary-eyed when she saw her grandmother Ms. Elaine Cuneta inside the theater. She said that she dove into doing film mainly because of her "lola."

"Well nakita ko ang lahat ng minamahal ko sa buhay na lahat present. 'Yung lola ka nandito siya. Yyung malaking rason kung bakit gusto kong gumawa ng pelikula para mapanaood niya at maging proud naman siya sa akin," KC said.

KC and Richard of course went to the premiere together and their respective families (Gutierrezes, Cunetas and Pangilinans) were also there to show their love and support.

Couples Sharon Cuneta was accompanied by husband Sen. Francis Pangilinan and Gutierrez' matriarch Anabelle Rama was with her hubby Eddie Gutierrez who is also part of the movie.

The other stars of the movie -- Candy Pangilinan, Beatriz Saw, Carla Humphries, Phillip Salvador, TJ Trinidad, Ana Roces, Bobby Andrews, Gee-Ann Abrahan and Bubbles Paraiso were also present.

Also spotted at the premiere were Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition 2 housemates -- Alex Anselmuccio, Robi Domingo and Ejay Falcon, actresses Rica Peralejo, Pop Princess Sarah Geronimo and Comedy Concert Queen Ai-Ai delas Alas, half-brothers Ton-Ton Gutierrez and Ramon Christopher Gutierrez, Sen. Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. and ABS-CBN's bigwigs -- president Charo Santos Concio and chairman Eugenio "Gabby" Lopez III.

As if uniting KC and Richard in movie was not enough, stars who are from ABS-CBN’ rival network, GMA-7, and who are also close to Richard were also there to show support.

Spotted were GMA-7 stars -- JC Devera, Ehra Madrigal and Richard's twin brother Raymond Gutierrez.

Gabby and Sharon

The night of course became complete with the presence of KC's biological father, the comebacking actor, Gabby Concepcion.

Gabby who wanted to show his support for her daughter KC just watched the movie at Cinema 9 with his family while Sharon and the other stars viewed the movie at Cinema 10.

KC and Richard first greeted the moviegoers at Cinema 9 where they met Gabby and thanked him for the support before they went to Cinema 10 to watch the whole movie with their families and other stars.

Sharon and Gabby of course did not get the chance to meet face-to-face, but were both happy for the success of their daughter's debut film.

"Kung masaya si KC, ako mga times 100, ako grabe ang pride ko sa turnout ng sumusuporta kay Richard at KC dito sa premiere. I'm thankful sa inyong lahat at baby ko naman ang inyong minamahal at kay Richard din," Sharon said.

"Salamat po sa pagpunta niyo dito, panoorin niyo po ang For The First Time at napakagandang pelikula po," Gabby said.

Viewers of the movie's special screening said the movie really moved and touched their hearts.

"(May matutunan kayo) kailangan na hayaang lumigaya ang anak at huwag bawal ang lahat," KC's surrogate father, Sen. Pangilinan said.

Sharon as a professional actress added she's also proud of her daughter's work. "For a beginner, not bad at all."

"For The First Time" starts its regular screening Wednesday, August 27, 2008 in over 100 theaters in the country.

Sabio, Roxas face dismissal for serious violations of court rules

Justices Vicente Roxas and Jose Sabio, two of the main characters in the alleged bribery scandal in the Court of Appeals, may face dismissal from service for serious violations of the Rules of Court and judicial ethics.

This developed as court observers expressed disappointment over the report prepared by the panel of retired Supreme Court justices on the Court of Appeals bribery scandal, saying it was a cop-out.

In refusing to recommend sanctions and tossing the responsibility to the SC, they observed the panel showed a failure of “judicial authority to wallop erring justices.”

Integrated Bar of the Philippines president Feliciano Bautista, sought for his reaction on the panel’s findings, said: “If they found irregularities, the panel should be brave enough to say it so.”

The IBP has sought the resignation of the justices linked and involved in the case. Asked about the status of the resignation call, Bautista said “it still stands.”

The panel—composed of retired justices Carolina Grino-Aquino, Flerida Ruth Romero and Romeo Callejo---was formed to look into the bribery scandal on the Meralco case and determine if there were improprieties committed by the CA justices involved.

The panel is chaired by Grino-Aquino, who also chaired the committee that looked into the contempt case against Malaya publisher Amado “Jake” Macasaet for his series of columns alleging that a “lady justice” received P10 million bribe contained in a milk box.
The Aquino panel found Macasaet guilty of indirect contempt of court.

Vasquez: failed leadership

In the CA controversy, the Aquino panel indicted five justices for committing a range of irregularities and improprieties. The five are Presiding Justice Conrado Vasquez and Justices Jose Sabio, Vicente Roxas, Bienvenido Reyes and Myrna Vidal.

Vasquez was castigated for his failed leadership, while Vidal and Reyes were found to have been discourteous and too compliant respectively. Vasquez was cited for his indecisiveness in dealing with the issue, Reyes for signing the decision without waiting for Vasquez to settle the issue while Vidal allowed herself to be rushed into signing the first version of the Meralco decision without reading the memoranda and knowing fully well that they have not deliberated on the case.

But compared with the panel’s judgment on Sabio and Roxas, the three however, received only a minor admonition.

SC sources said, however, that it is not be unusual for SC-formed panels to stop short in recommending sanctions, to give the Tribunal leeway on the proper disciplinary action. Other observers however say such panel has the latitude to go beyond administrative sanctions and recommend further investigation on possible criminal charges. Its failure to come up with suggested sanctions indicate “they do not want to rock the boat from their level.”

Serious offenses

In any case, a check with the Rules of Court pertaining to disciplinary actions on erring judges and justices show that Sabio and Roxas face dismissal from service.

Sec. 8 of Rule 140 states that serious charges (against judges and justices) may include bribery (direct or indirect), dishonesty and violations of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Law, gross misconduct constituting violations of the Code of Ethical Conduct among others.

Section 11 states that a respondent found guilty of a serious offense may be dismissed from service and disqualified from reinstatement or appointment to any public office; suspension from office without salary and other benefits and a fine of P20,000 but not exceeding P40,000.

The panel concluded that Sabio violated the new Code of Judicial Conduct when he allowed his brother, Presidential Commission on Good Government chair Camilo Sabio, to influence his conduct on the Meralco case and was remiss on his duty to inform the Presiding Justice about his brother’s phone call.

Sabio was also reprimanded for discussing the Meralco case with businessman Francis de Borja as it broke the seal of confidentiality in pending court cases.

The 59-page report cited Sabio’s violations of the New Code of Judicial Conduct as follows: (See Panel findings in Research section)

Sec. 1. Judges shall exercise the judicial function independently…free from extraneous influence…

Sec. 4. Judges shall not allow family, social or other relationships to influence judicial conduct or judgment. The prestige of judicial office shall not be used or lent to advance the private interests of others, nor convey or permit others to convey the impression that they are in a special position to influence the judge.

Roxas: dishonest

As for Roxas, who penned the Meralco decision, the panel described him as dishonest and untruthful for fabricating a transcript of the deliberation and claiming there was actual deliberation of the case.

The panel further said Roxas showed “undue interest” in the case because he prepared the decision before the parties filed their memoranda.

“He cheated the parties’ counsel of the time, effort, and energy that they invested in the preparation of their ponderous memoranda which, as it turned out, neither he nor the other members of the Eighth Division bothered to read before signing his decision,” the report said.

The panel also found that Roxas violated the rules of court by “ignoring or refusing” to act on the motion for his inhibition and by failing to act on the other motions of the parties.

Missing in SC report

In the discussion on Vasquez, however, the panel did not cite two issues which came up during the public hearings.

One was Vasquez’s failure to disclose to the CA that he has relatives who work in GSIS, a party to the case. They include his two daughters and a sister.

The other is his non-disclosure of the opinion of Justice Edgardo Cruz who said that the Meralco case belonged to the Eighth Division because the main writer or ponente, Roxas, is in the said division.

Army rockets kill 3 children, 3 others in south

MANILA - At least six civilians, including a pregnant woman and three children, were killed on Monday when Philippine army planes strafed and bombed Muslim rebel positions in the south a week after a peace deal collapsed, officials said.

Army helicopters and planes attacked rebel positions near a marshland after renegade members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) had fired at helicopters searching for rebels on the southern island of Mindanao, army officials said.

Musib Uy Tan, a local official, told reporters the civilians had been on their way to a temporary shelter area when their boat was hit by rockets fired from helicopter gunships.

"The boat was a total wreck," Tan said, adding that the bodies of a 53-year old farmer and his family, including a pregnant 17-year old girl, had been pulled from the water.

Colonel Marlou Salazar, an army brigade commander, said he was unaware of civilian casualties but reported that seven MILF rebels had been killed in the air strikes.

But army spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Julieto Ando said collateral damage in armed encounters was possible.

"We're investigating that incident now," Ando told reporters.

Earlier on Monday, a crude bomb went off in a public market in Mindanao's Isulan town while another was defused near a hospital in nearby Tacurong City. Both are Catholic-dominated areas and thus potential MILF targets.

Identical bombs

"Our investigators believed it was supposed to go off at the same time as the second bomb because the two explosive devices were almost identical," Major Armand Rico, another military spokesman, told reporters. "They were made from 81mm mortar rounds and remotely detonated by a cellphone."

Military chief General Alexander Yano warned of more bombings in Catholic-dominated areas in Mindanao even as fighting subsided since Ramadan started last week. He said the rebels had broken into smaller groups to avoid head-on confrontations.

More than 200 people, including 21 soldiers, were killed in August in fighting between troops and renegade members of the MILF blamed for attacking Christian-majority southern towns after the peace deal fell apart.

The government has been in on-off talks with the MILF since 1997 to end a rebellion that has killed 120,000 people and stunted growth in a region said to be sitting on huge deposits of minerals, oil and natural gas.

About half a million people have been displaced by fighting since Aug. 18 as troops bombed and shelled rebel positions.

On Monday, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) asked for more donations so it could continue providing food to around 70,000 people at refugee camps on Mindanao, adding that there could be more uncertainty after the end of Ramadan.

It was reported on ABS-CBN news last 09/08/2008 on 9:48 PM that tremendous interest in the showdown between “The Golden Boy” Oscar de la Hoya and Filipino ring idol Manny Pacquiao is reflected in the mad rush of people asking about how and where to buy tickets for the fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on December 6.

Even Manila-based sports analyst Ronnie Nathanielsz has unexpectedly received inquiries and suggestions on how to get a hold of tickets.

While tickets are being peddled on the Internet, they haven’t gone on sale as yet since there are other big fights ahead of the de la Hoya – Pacquiao card on December 6. One of those looking for fight tickets is the Philippines No. 1 Davis Cup tennis star Cecil Mamiit.

In an e-mail, Mamiit told Nathanielsz, “I’m in search for some tickets for the fight. I have a group of friends and family planning a trip to see the fight and we really would love to get hold of tickets to make the trip worth it. We are willing to pay a reasonable price.”

Mamiit said he was “just seeing if you have any suggestions on how we could get a hold of some and we would really appreciate the help.”

Both Pacquiao’s lawyer, Franklin “Jeng” Gacal, and close friend Rex “Wakee” Salud have already been besieged by requests for tickets indicating growing interest in the fight despite sharply divided opinions on whether the fight is right or whether its all because the price is right.

Realistic Economy

RF Online's economy can be divided into two parts - production and consumption. Most other MMORPG economies focus on hunting. In RF Online's case, the mine is a new field where resources are produced as a part of and in support of economic activity. Mining for minerals and processing the products of these produce many kinds of items. These form the basis for conflict within the mines.

Also, just like in the real world, overproduction causes prices to fall. If many players convert their ore into currency, the going price of ore will drop as supply begins to outstrip demand.

Race VS Race Wars:

All members of a single race band together to fight the other races for the rights to control the Talic mines. The winner gets mining rights and a virtual stranglehold on the economy until another race wins.

Mining:

The winning race wins the right to search for Talic in the mines. The other two races get to organize raids to steal Talic from the mines, or to wrest control of the mine from the other race.

Patriarchal/Rulership System:

High-level characters who rise to the top of the ranks can attempt to run for 'ruler' for their race, becoming a leader and spokesman for their race.

Player-Controlled Economic System:

The Bellato are a fiercely independent race that fell from power under sustained attacks by the combined efforts of the Accretian Empire and the Holy Alliance of Cora. They are a race of inventors that are able to combine creative tools and weapons with the Light form of universal magic called the Force. The Bellato enter the war as the least physically capable; and yet given their ingenuity they have the potential to become the strongest.

The Holy Alliance of Cora draws its power and faith from their god, DECEM. Corite belief dictates that they conquer worlds and force other races to submit in the name of DECEM. Though gifted in the use of arms and weapons, their reliance on tools is secondary to the powers granted by their god DECEM. They practice a form of the Force that is the dark sister to that which the Bellato practice.

The war begins with the Imperial Army of Accretia which first entered the war to protect themselves from the Imperialist Bellato Union who tried to conquer the entire galaxy. Later, they allied themselves with the Cora armed forces against the Union , and upon their triumph, split asunder the Empire that the Bellato Union tried to establish. Upon restaking their claim as an Empire, the Accretia gathered its troops for war against their former cohorts among the Holy Alliance of Cora and the newly formed Bellato Federation to lay claim to the Talic Mines.

This is the basic premise of RF Online. When these cultures coexist and compete for limited resources, conflict will eventually ensue. The conflict begins on the planet of Novus, but later expands into an entire galaxy. This is what sets RF Online apart from all other MMORPGs. The players weave the story, and, it is them who will keep the story unfolding.

The Story

PROLOGUE

Tantra traces its roots to an ancient language used by the gods; its origins predating the dawn of mankind. The advent of life spawned an age where gods and humans peacefully co-existed. Everything was a perfect cycle of natural order, an equilibrium undisturbed for a long, long time. But an evil terror came forth to threaten this balance. Great wars erupted and cataclysmic battles between gods and humans escalated. From the horrors of war, arose a powerful evil – Mara.

INTRODUCTION

Haima Yuga: The Golden Age

A period of tranquility between gods and humans ushered in an era known as Haima Yuga or the Golden Age. This epoch saw the three high gods, Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva living together in Shambala Castle at the Mantra Plateau. They ruled over this dominion while bringing balance and order in the realms of Tantra. For a great period of time, everything was in harmony and coordination. It seems nothing could disrupt this utopia. But then the humans began to feel restless and uneasy.

The immense superiority of the gods provoked a deep envy among humans. They were starting to question the great order of things and their reason for being. This reawakening triggered a mass exodus from the Mantra Plateau and humans scattered about to start a new life. They traveled wide and far until they finally settled into the eight regions.

Even though they migrated from the Mantra Plateau, humans never completely severed their ties with the gods. Oracles found within their settlements provided the channels from which they communicated with the gods of Mantra Plateau.

The world of Tantra was slowly taking into shape. A shared reality made possible by gods and humans united towards their vision of a utopian ideal.

The Breaking of the Three

Life was relatively idyllic and calm in the world of Tantra. However, this fragile peace was eventually extinguished by a god’s murderous rampage.

Chaos ensued when Shiva slaughtered Brahma by slitting his throat. Shiva’s motives were a great mystery to all and his treachery resulted into an imbalance within the sphere of Tantra. The Power of Three was no more.

Several heroic middle-class gods rushed to the Gates of Shambala in a desperate bid to realign the balance within Tantra. It was an exercise in futility as a mysterious and powerful force intervened, sealing the gates for all eternity. This was an ominous foretelling of the great evil heading towards the land of Tantra.

The absence of the three gods (Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva) and the closure of the Gates of Shambala saw a reign of chaos and terror pervading the land. The diabolical Mantra and his legions invaded the world of Tantra from the Mantra Plateau. Caught unaware and outnumbered, the Gatekeepers, God’s own army, put up a stubborn defense but were greatly overwhelmed by the marauding forces of Mara.

Mara’s nefarious scheme was like a mysterious cloud looming over the horizon. His insidious plans a great enigma to all. The annihilation of the Gatekeepers leaves the humans to rely on their own cunning and resources. The road to redemption would have to be trudged by mankind alone.

War of the Eight Kings

With the collapse of the Gatekeeper’s defenses, the humans from the eight regions banded together for one last stand. Each region was commanded by eight noble heroes who rallied them into war. Their heroic resistance proved to be a match to Mara’s army and they went on to engage the dark forces for 1 yogi year (10 years).

The war raged on with both sides incurring massive casualties. Mara and his minions staged a desperate final assault but were eventually repulsed by the gallant humans. It turned out to be a bittersweet victory as the humans paid a terrible price for their valor. Mantra was reduced to rubbles and the eight heroes sacrificed their lives to lock away the evil Mara from Tantra for eternity.

As a fitting tribute to the eight heroes selflessness, the grateful humans renamed them as the Eight Kings. Their acts of courage became tales passed on through generations. Unfortunately, the memories of the war and the Eight Kings were eventually erased from the collective memories of the humans they once saved.

The Coming of the Dark Age

Seven yogi years (70 years) passed and the humans were gradually recovering from the effects of the terrible war. A once barren land turned into fertile grounds where new cities sprouted. They christened one of the cities Mantra Plava, the place where the descendants of the eight tribes lived in relative peace and harmony.

The untimely departure of the three gods left a gaping hole in the people’s quest for enlightenment. Many started to question the established truths and beliefs. They started to argue over the tenets of their religion including the real version of Brahma’s death. These bickering led to conflicts in ideologies which resulted into many religions being established and various questions unresolved.

In this age of confusion and discord, the fragile peace that held everything in check was beginning to unravel. Rumors about sightings of malevolent creatures spread like wildfire. Fear was creeping in on the populace and an emerging threat was lurking in the shadows. It was a widely held belief that these beings were Mara’s descendants, otherwise known as Mara’s Blood.

Sightings of Mara’s Blood became widespread, prompting the humans to leave Mantra Plava. They migrated south and began building shelters and defenses from these evil entities. Sadly, lives were still lost during this hurried evacuation.

Numerous assaults were undertaken on the lair of Mara’s Blood. These gallant attempts failed to hold back the impending threat. Devoid of the leadership of the Eight Kings and experiencing division from within, the humans were simply helpless against the evil that was about to engulf their lands.

The era of peace that pervaded for so many years was no more. A new and more vicious evil was about to unleash its fury. It was the epoch of the Dark Age – a time of unspeakable terror and evil.

STORY

Like the multifaceted rose in The Little Prince, The Seven Planets of ROSE Online have many aspects: Beauty and passion, danger and romance, plots and planets. Those who explore the beauty of ROSE must also be wary of the thorns hidden within!
The Gods Story revolves around Arua, Junon and Hebarn. The actions of the three Gods influenced everything in the Planets of the Seven Hearts.
It begins when Arua is designated the Creator Goddess by the Council of Gods.
However with Arua's ascension to Creator, other Gods who opposed her appointment voiced their dissent, but they were unable to change the decision of the Council of Gods.
With the mandate Arua has from the Council of Gods, she begins creation of the Seven Planets with seven aspects of her mind. Here she hopes to house the Gods.
Hebarn, however, jealous of her rival Arua's ascension to Creator, subverts the Council's wishes and manages to secretly copy the Creator powers from Arua, which she then uses to corrupt the seventh planet and spread her darkness to the other six.
Arua however, is unaware of the threat to her worlds until the Council of Gods reprimands her for her inaction in the spreading darkness among her worlds.
With his lover Arua's work and position as Creator being threatened, Junon at first tried to counter the growing darkness of Hebarn with his own power. However that was not enough. So, he decided to create seven humans imbued with his powers and sent them to the first world, Junon. Though their efforts they were able to prove Arua's innocence before the Council of Gods.
Her first plot foiled, Hebarn hatches a new one and insists that Arua did not manage her creatures well, thus causing the Darkness to spread among the worlds. Arua would not have been able to refute Hebarn's arguments in the Council had it not been for Junon who once more stepped in to defend his lover. His efforts managed to buy Arua some time to deal with Hebarn's treachery.
Unaware of what exactly is going on, Arua creates Visitors to help her bring Hebarn's plots to light. They are first sent to Junon, where their story begins.

Gods

Gods are generally believed to be perfect beings of flawless beauty and virtue. But in reality, Gods have feelings, and enjoy having various experiences. Like humans, they laugh, cry, feel anger, and love.
It was the through the love and imagination of the goddess Arua that the seven planets were created, but it is the jealousy and anger of the god Hebarn that threatens to consume the light of the seven planets with darkness.
Fortunately, Arua's lover, the god Junon, is aware of Hebarn's intent and is working to protect her from his evil. Therefore, he is deeply involved in events which will affect the human inhabitants of the seven planets. As the patron god of adventurers, Junon is also responsible for the appearance of heroes in times of crisis.

Heroes

Throughout history, Heroes are recognized as people who have accomplished great achievements.
Generally, they tend to be people of strength and moral character. In R.O.S.E Online, heroes worship Junon, the patron god of adventure, and deliver his message to the earth by adventuring all around the 7 planets. Every faction keeps a historical record of the heroes affiliated with that faction, as well as mementos of their exploits. Users are able to check these histories once they join a faction.

What is DotA?

DotA stands for “Defense of the Ancients”, it's a free mod for Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne. The purpose of the game is to defend your Ancient and try to destroy the opponents Ancient. The ancients are located deep in both bases, which are located at the top right and bottom left corners of the map. There are over 70 heroes that differ greatly in play style. Each of these heroes have been carefully designed so they are both balanced and unique. The map is updated frequently, sometimes to add new heroes, fix bugs or to make a balance update. The strategies possible with DotA are pretty much endless, choosing the wrong item and hero combination can mean the difference between a win and a loss for your team. The gameplay in DotA Allstars can be classified as relatively fast because as the game progresses any small mistake you make can be fatal to the overall team.

What are Heroes?
Heroes are highly skilled fighters with various magical abilities. Each of these heroes has skills and stats. Heroes start at level one and go up to level 25. When a creep or hero is killed in an area around you, you gain experience. If you get enough experience you gain a level, which means that you gain extra attribute points and one skill point that can be used towards upgrading one of your unique abilities.
The stats are called “Hero Attributes” and determine the basic strengths and weaknesses of a hero, one of these attributes is the “primary attribute” which determines your attack damage and generally the type of hero you control. The 3 Hero Attributes are:
Strength: Each point enhances hit points and hit point regeneration.
Agility: Each point enhances attack speed and armor.
Intelligence: Each point enhances mana points and mana regeneration
Each hero has a total of 5 different skills available. Three of these skills are “normal” skills and can be gotten from the first level. The fourth skill is an ultimate which can be gotten at level 6/11/16, the ultimate can be classified as a more powerful skill then the normal skill in most cases. What about items?

You gain a minor amount of gold over time, but most of your gold will be gotten by landing the finishing blow on a hero or creep. With gold you can buy various items.
